Dr. Hyman Wilensky practiced at Horton and Maitland in his home at first. Ended his practice at 450 Central Avenue in London. Wilenksy was born 1907 at Victoria Hospital, 2 years after his family left Russia. Attended Central High School in London. Graduated 1930 from UWO. Died 1984. He wanted to be a chest surgeon but had difficulty finding an internship because of his Jewish background so he interned in London at the Beck TB Sanitarium in early 1930s. He was also interested in allergies and cardiology. He became a member of the American College of Chest Physicians. He was a member of the London Academy of Medicine executive; honoured by the OMA with Life Membership; and a Senior Membership in the CMA. He was also active in Jewish education in the city. |
