Description |
2015.024.34.01 a wooden case fairly scuffed but in otherwise good condition. Case has metal handle on top and lock on left side. Right side has two metal hinges. Bottom of case reads "G.P. Pilling & Son Phila." Inside of case is wood and felt like purple paper. Top has four round metal holes that are likely terminals and are labeled from left to right P,1,2,3,N. The On/Off switch is loose and in one position rests a metal button like circle. The black and silver cylindrical battery is held in place by screws and clamps. Four adjustable metal hooks are below and the inner two are corroded by what appears to be battery acid. Six compartments are carved out of the wood in the bottom. The ones in corners hold the wood handles and metal cylinders. The bottom ones are for the electrode sponges. The other side holds the metal plate electrode which is secured with three clamps, the center one being adjustable; 2015.024.34.02 a shiny but slightly tarnished metal plate. A little handle like pmetal piece with a hole is in one corner; 2015.024.34.03 an electrode sponge with metal top and string showing signs of battery acid corrosion, other side is yellowed sponge; 2015.024.34.04 an electrode sponge with metal top and white string, yellowed sponge on other side; 2015.024.34.05 a wooden handle in good condition, bottom has screw thread for metal cylinder; 2015.024.34.06 a metal cylinder open on one side, screw on other that attaches to wood handle; 2015.024.34.07 a wooden handle in good condition, bottom has screw threads for metal cylinder; 2015.024.34.08 a metal cylinder on one side, screw on other side that attaches to wood handle; 2015.024.34.09 a red fabric wire with key like terminal on one end, probably ripped and separated from 2015.024.34.10; 2015.024.34.10 a red fabric wire with a key like terminal at one end and torn in other, probably separated from 2015.024.34.09; 2015.024.34.11 a green fabric wire with two key like terminals on each end. One end is fraying. |
