Research Notes |
According to Dr. Howard, this endoscope and colonoscope had a bit more movement than 2024.001.01.01. It was fibre optic and could break easily and the viewer would start to see black dots over time. It was worth about $15,000 in the 1970s. Dr. Howard learned on this scope. This colonoscope was apparently one of the first made. Colonoscopies during the 1970s lasted around two hours. This scope had a teaching attachment that divided it in two so that a teacher and student could use it at the same time. Dr. Howard later used this scope to do electrical work (look into walls). |
